Will & Asher

Will and his son Asher are good friends of mine. We went down to the waterfront by Chaffers Marina in Wellington one sunny day and spent the morning playing on the grass and making some photos. They are great to watch together. Asher is a fun kid, but has a very contemplative nature, and wasn’t easy to photograph.

It is tempting when shooting children to try to make them laugh and smile for every photo, but I find it much more rewarding to get good shots that really display the nature and personality of each individual child. I think I have done this quite well with Asher.

It was a real pleasure spending the day with them playing and shooting, and being able to give Will something to cherish. I also had a lot of fun in the process!
